Learn the piano keys - there are only 7 key names:
A B C D E F G
It would be impossible to find individual white keys without black keys
Use the black keys to find the white keys
Black keys are grouped in 2’s and 3’s
There are 7 groupings of each on a piano – count them.
If you have a smaller keyboard there are only 5 of each group
5 groups of 2 and 5 groups of 3
COUNT THEM ON YOUR INSTRUMENT
STEP #1
Learn the 3 white keys around the group of 2 black keys first.

Play and count the number of C’s on your piano or keyboard
There are 8 C’s on a piano and 6 C’s on a keyboard – the top key on both is a C
Play and count all the C’s again on your piano
STEP #2
The white key to the right of the 2 black keys is E.
Play and count the number of E’s on your piano or keyboard
There are 7 E'S on a piano and 5 on a keyboard
